I'm not sure where the press works into that but I assume it's because some of them have good friends in the press. They already said alpha was going to be exclusive to people the ANet staff know. It matters not to me whether anyone else believes it - ilr 14:01, 24 July 2011 (UTC) It's just like predicting the Engineer over a year ago. I'm just making this point ahead of time b/c "I told you So's" are what I do.

I'm not going to force their hand on it, it's up to them to come clean. However sharing the screen would violate the NDA and make me just as "Rogue" as their CM's who keep telling us that Beta doesn't exist yet. there's press members of the non-GW community with a play-at-home release and I know b/c the Screenshot I saw was of a shrine that can't be accessed in any of the Convention Demos. I hate it even more than you guys do: Late Alpha, super Early Super Closed Beta. Why don't you wish to share your insight? ~ Farlo Talk 01:17, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, when I first read this and Kyoshi's reply (which I read wrong the first time), I immediately had an internal shit-storm thinking that they just announced it, followed by searching any related sites and all my emails for any mention of it. Of course if you have source I'll be more trusting. Beta was to be announced in their newsletter and both wikis. (Go Ask Regina instead.their marketing Dept's pulled a quicky on all of us). 3 Present and Future Release Date Speculation. Finally we have a game that shakes off the traditions of World of Warcraft, and moves online fantasy role play forward.

The story is great too, and really motivates you to keep playing. It makes great innovations in the genre, which make it really accessible and fun to play. The graphics and sound are fantastic throughout, although you'll need a powerful PC to get the most out of them. Early on you'll see how much more social Guild Wars 2 is, and how much more of the game you spend playing with other players. No planning is needed - you can simply join in a battle or event as you see it. Missions in Guild Wars 2 make sense for the overall story, so you won't have to go and hunt 100 boars in the search for experience points.Īnother innovation is how you can play together. It takes time and skill to grow your character, and a great part of this is how Guild Wars 2 has removed the repetitive 'grind' missions that litter so many similar games. It's not as easy to climb the XP ladder as players are used to in World of Warcraft or The Old Republic. Guild Wars 2 stands out as being a challenging MMORPG.
